The go-to place for a curry in London is Brick Lane. It is the heart of the city's Bangladeshi community (known to some as Banglatown) and famous for its many curry houses. Nearby Kingsland Road, meanwhile, is famous for its rows of Vietnamese restaurants, the most notable being Song Que. A number of both operate a ‘bring your own bottle’ (B.Y.O.B) policy.

Pubs and Bars Shoreditch
There is no shortage of watering holes in Shoreditch, from smart cocktail bars, to trendy pubs and cool clubs that all offer a great night on the tiles. Bar-lined streets include, Shoreditch High Street, Curtain Road and Old Street. Brilliant boozers include The Owl and Pussycat on Redchurch Street, Commercial Tavern and The Star of Bethnal Green, which hosts regular pop-up restaurants and parties that rock until the early hours.
Brick Lane is home to two institutional Shoreditch bars, The Big Chill and 93 Feet East, whilst the Queen of Hoxton on Curtain Road has a popular rooftop that is crammed in the summer months. Shopping
Both tourists and locals alike flock to Brick Lane for its vintage stores, independent boutiques and weekend markets. In the Old Truman Brewery, you will find The Sunday UpMarket, the Vintage Market, the Backyard Market and the Boiler House Food Hall. Open across the weekend; the markets have over 200 stalls selling vintage and handmade clothing and accessories, music, arts and crafts, and organic food. Shoppers will also find some of London's vintage originators, Beyond Retro and Rokit, showcasing up-and-coming designers and independent labels at affordable prices.
Over on Commercial Street, visitors will find the iconic and ever-popular Spitalfields Market, perfect for knick-knacks, fashion and food. The market is encased by beautiful shops that are home to independent boutiques alongside high-street brands such as MAC and Oliver Bonas. Uniquely made out of shipping containers, BOXPARK on Shoreditch High Street is the world’s first pop-up shopping centre hosting a selection of rotating independent stores.

Art
Historically, cheaper rents attracted throngs of poor artists to the area, making Shoreditch the centre of London’s modern art world. Art lovers are spoilt for choice with Victoria Miro; a British contemporary gallery with an international reputation and The Whitechapel Gallery; one of the first publicly funded galleries for temporary exhibitions in London, exhibiting retrospective exhibitions and shows that are of interest to the local community.
